Looking for your Stimulus Payment?
Updated 4/8/2021 12:15 PM
Though library staff cannot help answer tax questions, manually enter personal information, or assist patrons for more than 15 minutes at a time due to COVID-19 guidelines, McLib is here to help you secure your COVID-19 relief stimulus payments! We are happy to help you navigate to the IRS Website, where you will find helpful links to find out more about the status of your stimulus payment.
If you have received stimulus payments in the last year, you may just need to hold tight for a bit. Processing times vary for these payments. You can check the status of your payment here.
If you have not received this year’s payments, but have received stimulus payments in 2020, you need to file your 2020 Taxes and include the Recovery Rebate Credit. Click here to find out more about the Recovery Rebate Credit.
If you are a non-filer, or have not filed taxes in the last three years, you need to file your 2020 taxes. The IRS suggests these websites that walk you through the process of submitting your taxes. Click here to go through your secure and free options!
You will need an email address to use these services. If you have a cellphone, we recommend creating an account with Gmail, Yahoo Mail, or Outlook email. If you do not have a cellphone, we recommend Mail.com or ProtonMail.
Are you unable to use a computer to file your taxes? Because we are legally not allowed to give tax advice or manually enter in sensitive information, we recommend you contact United Way’s free tax help service. Visit myfreetaxes.com or call (866) 698-9435 to get assistance for free. You can also contact United Way’s 211 Economic Impact Payment Helpline by calling (844) 322-3639 for assistance.
If you don’t have a permanent address, you can arrange to have your stimulus money sent to a local post office, homeless shelter or religious place of worship.
We know these stimulus payments are extremely important, and we want to help! If you have any questions, please contact the information desk at 270-442-2510 ext. 119 or email us at [email protected]!
