10/28 - BOOKBINDING
Why spend money on a journal or diary when you can make a cool one with a cardboard soap box and old envelopes?
11/18 (3rd Tues.) - CREATE A BOARD GAME
Using a 1922 board game as a template, we’ll create our own games just in time for the holidays.
Paper Toys
From origami to paper dolls to model cars to mechanical toys with movable parts...scissors, glue, and paper are about all you need. Paper toys have been around for 1400 years, and we're keeping the tradition alive. There will be several patterns for participants to choose from and craft, as well as some take-home kits so you can keep the fun going. This is an "older kids only" event.
Letterlocking & Sealing Wax
Writing letters by hand has been largely replaced by the phone, which makes receiving a letter in the mail that much more special. In this Nerding session, we'll delve into the lost art of letterwriting, including techniques for letterlocking, a method of intricately folding a letter to ensure its privacy, as well as applying sealing wax.
