To Us the Ashes: Indigenous Shorts (2021) 

Via the distributor’s website: To Us The Ashes, a reference and ode to Chief Seattle’s Treaty of 1854, is a collection of 5 Indigenous Documentary Shorts from across the world. As each short highlights different Indigenous stories of fly fishing conservationists in the Pacific Northwest to a young Lakota woman creating a girls’ boxing team, they each embody the ingenuity and tenacity of Indigenous People across the world.

BaadAsssss Cinema (2002) 

Via the director’s website: BaadAsssss Cinema is a feature documentary in which Isaac Julien explores the 70s hollywoodian film genre known as blaxploitation and its trajectory in American cinema and society. 

The film includes interviews with actors Fred Williamson, Pam Grier, Richard Roundtree and Samuel L. Jackson, with directors Quentin Tarantino and Larry Cohen, together with archival footage and an enticing soundtrack tell the story of blaxploitation’s emergence and its social and political context.
