MAKE was founded in 2014 by Kijsa Housman. A classically trained artist with over 20 years of professional experience, art, teaching and design have always been a significant part of her life. While her study concentrated on 2-D studio art, living life as a professional artist brought many unusual commission opportunities for her to tackle creative problem solving. Fast forward through lots of paint, murals, messes and years. As the walls of her Lowertown studio began to burst with artwork, orders, Etsy shop inventory and classes, she knew she needed more space. And not just any space…a space that would be a hub of creativity, bringing people together, and support the local community. From there MAKE came to BE.
The 101 Series sparks interest in a wide range of unique topics. Programs are free and open to the public and are led experts in their field.
