Preservation 101: Best Practices for Preserving your Family Archives

Led by archivist Leigh Ann Paxton.

October is Archives Awareness Month and the library is celebrating by hosting a workshop on preservation.

Maybe a relative sent you old letters, certificates, and family photographs and you are not sure what to do. Maybe you’re wondering how to save your child’s pictures and other mementos. Come listen and watch live demonstrations on how to preserve your family’s treasures for generations to come.

Learn the best preservation practices for storing, handling, and caring for photographs, scrapbooks, letters, and other personal memorabilia. Hear about the latest standards and recommendations for digitizing family photographs.
