Jack Martin & Good Company is an authentic Bluegrass band playing in the style of the 1st generation musicians from the Golden Age of Bluegrass during the 1950's.
About Jack Martin & Good Company:
Jack Martin & Good Company is a 5 piece bluegrass band based out of Paducah, Kentucky. The band specializes in traditional bluegrass and gospel, but if you listen closely you will hear strains of newer bluegrass along with Johnny Cash and Hank Williams, Sr.
Jack Martin, the leader of the band, has been playing music for over 70 years performing with such bluegrass legends as ester Flatt, Bill and James Monroe and Mac Wiseman to name a few. Jack has taught stringed instruments here in Paducah for over 50 years. You will hear him play Dobro and guitar and sing.
Rod Martin is a local civil engineer who learned guitar under the tutelage of his Uncle Jack. Rod can play lead and rhythm and sings. He also serves as "soul man", an all-important job.
Rounding out the group are brother and sister, Carson and Hunter Wright from Tiline, Kentucky. This talented team are regular cast members on the Kentucky Opry. Hunter, a graduate of Murray State University, plays bass and lends her beautiful voice to many vocals. Carson is a senior at Marshall County High School, where he performs in the marching band. He plays a great mandolin and also sings some fine songs. Carson and Hunter blend their voices in what is referred to as "wonderful family harmony."
Joining the band will be Cutter Singelton, an 11 year old banjo player from Marion, KY. Cutter plays multiple instruments and he has appeared several times on Michael Johnathan's Woodsongs television show and also played backup for his younger brother on Little Big Shots.
