'Tween Summer Reading Program

June 5 - July 23, 2007

You Never Know What you might learn or Whom you might meet @your library.

What is It?

§         The Mclib ‘Tween Summer Reading Program is for library cardholders ages 10-12.

§         A special YOU NEVER KNOW event is scheduled for each week in June and July.

§         Read books. Win rewards.

§         Hang out with friends. Have fun!

What do I have to read?

§         Read anything you want, because YNK what you might learn!

§         Read any juvenile or young adult book, comic, or magazine. (Audio books count, too.)

How Do I Participate?

§         First, fill out the registration form in this brochure.

§         Turn in the completed form to the second floor Questions? desk and receive your YNK reading kit. It contains all you need to get started.

§         Each time you finish a book, write a short review in your reading log. Show your log to the librarian at the Questions? desk to collect your reward.

§         Be sure to register in advance for each of the summer events you want to attend. (See schedule listing to the right.)

§         Mark your calendar for Friday, July 27. This is the end-of-summer party for all registered readers.

Book Pass Club

Tuesdays in June and July, 2-3pm

Ever read a great book and want to tell somebody about it? Did you ever start to read a book and wish someone had told you how boring it was?

That’s the idea behind the Book Pass Club: Come to the library on Tuesdays during summer reading and meet with other teens to discuss a book that you have finished.

Make new friends. Munch on snacks.

Pass along a good book! (But remember: Don’t give away the ending!)

Thanks to our Teen and 'Tween

Summer Reading Program sponsor!
