Teen/Tween Summer Reading Program 2009
(Ages 10 to 17)
Monday June 8th
1:00 to 1:45 p.m. Draw the Music
First learn how to download music from the library’s website. Next, try drawing with pastels to different styles of music and see the differences on paper!
2:00 to 2:45 p.m. Shapescapes
Create abstract 3-D sculptures solo. Then everyone will work together to form a 90 piece group sculpture!
Monday June 15th
1:00 to 2:45 p.m. Garden Painting Party
Let’s go outside to the library garden for a painting class with Lea! Express your own style on canvass, then try a paint by numbers kit. Bring a hat for the sun, and wear old clothes! Class is limited to 20 participants.
Monday June 22nd
1:00 to 2:45 p.m. Behind the puppet wall
Join Ms Retta at the Story Time wall! Make your own puppet, write a group skit with others, then have fun behind the puppet wall. Ms Retta will help direct our group’s performance to make it as professional as it can be.
Monday June 29th
1:00 to 1:45 p.m. Tandem Drawing
Imagine drawing a picture together with someone, at the same time, on opposite sides of a wall of glass. That’s tandem drawing! Session limited to 8 participants.

Creatures of Habit is bringing a collection of theatrical costumes to the library! Take on a new persona; pose for the camera! Workshop limited to 15 participants.
2:00 to 2:45 p.m. Costume Trunk Show
Session two. A repeat of the workshop described above.
Monday July 13th
1:00 to 1:45 p.m. Body Art
Wear your shorts and tees for this workshop! Decorate yourself (or a friend) with cosmetic crayons. Limit 10.
