The Adult Summer Reading program kicks off with the Summer Reading Block party on June 12, featuring the sounds of Kentucky string band Gideon's Rifle! We'll have music, games, refreshments, and all that attend will be entered to win a Kindle Fire! Download the flyer.
Adults can pick up a summer reading punch card at either of the first floor desks. For each library book, audiobook, or e-book read, bring the punch card to the information desk and get it punched. Read 10 books, fill out the card, and turn it in. Your first card will get you a tote bag that converts to a beach mat with a built-in inflatable pillow, and one entry in the drawing for an iPad mini at the end of the summer. You can turn in as many cards as you can fill before July 31 (but you only get one bag). See the rules here.
The Teen summer reading is all about science! Check out all the events that we have planned this summer. All programs are on Mondays at 2pm. Teens that read 8 books this summer will receive a free backback and be entered to win one of 3 Kindle Fire tablets. Download a reading challenge form.
Kids will have exciting science programs all summer long! Tuesdays and Wednesdays at 10am, 1pm, and 3pm, we'll have guests from all over the region explore what science can teach about the world around us. Kids that read 12 books will win a free backback and be entered to win a special prize at the end of the summer. Get all the information here and download a reading challenge form.
