About the TumbleBook Library
The TumbleBook Library is a collection of TumbleBooks (animated, talking picture books) TumblePuzzles, and TumbleQuizzes, as well as TumbleResources for teachers. TumbleBooks are created from existing picture books which we have licensed from children's book publishers and converted to the TumbleBook format.
Navigating the Site:
You may want to first explore the site and check out all the books, games and features. Our catalogue has book descriptions, book reviews, and author/illustrator/publisher information. You can view a TumbleBook by clicking on the ‘View Online” button. There are a number ways you can access a book:
The index page lists all the TumbleBooks and TumbleGames. Click on the hyperlink and it will take you right to that TumbleBook. Scroll through the collection in any of the sections to read the descriptions and view the reading levels.
Once you have familiarized yourself with the collection however, the fastest and easiest way to get to your favorite books is by adding your class favorites to the My Favorites section. Add and delete the titles you want easy access to.
TumblePad Word Helper :
This new feature allows you to click on a book to hear a sentence repeated, or click on a vocabulary word in order to hear it sounded out.
Reading Levels:
Each title has recommended reading levels for both automatic and manual modes. Click on the reading level to see other books at the same level.
TumbleQuizzes:
Each title has an accompanying TumbleQuiz: a fun, flash-animated, multiple-choice quiz that each student can take online after reading a book to test their reading comprehension.
TumbleGames:
The TumblePuzzles and memory TumbleGames are great educational games to play after reading a book.
Language Learning:
Our Language Learning section has a growing collection of books in Spanish and French.
Life Learning:
We are especially proud of our Life Learning section. You'll discover important books about volunteering, tolerance and other life lessons.

Our drop down menu on the top right hand corner of the site allows you to view the entire site in Spanish or Chinese!
Record-A-TumbleBook (NEW!):
We’re delighted to introduce a brand-new feature on the TumbleBookLibrary website: Record-A-TumbleBook! After registering with TumbleBooks to receive a special username and password, users can log-in and record themselves reading their favorite TumbleBooks. Users can then can then listen to their recorded version of the book automatically like you would a regular TumbleBook, or page by page, with the option to re-record the pages individually as you wish. Record-A-TumbleBook is a great way for students to practice both the visual and oral skills involved in reading, and for students and teachers alike to assess readers’ progress. On the main TumbleBookLibrary homepage, simply click on “Click here to Record-A-TumbleBook!” and then click on “Getting Started” for further instructions. |
